The first thing to know is that you don’t pay us any attorney fees unless we recover Michigan Social Security Disability benefits on your claim. We recover attorney fees only if we win your case and get you an award of past-due Social Security Disability benefits. And we never ask for any up-front retainer fee, either.

The most we collect is 25 percent of any past-due benefits you are awarded, or $6,000 – whichever is less. Those limits are set by the Social Security Administration, which imposes a maximum amount that attorneys can collect when representing SSD benefits claimants. In addition, the Social Security Administration must approve all attorney fee requests.
We also get reimbursed for our out-of-pocket expenses. In most SSD cases, those costs are small compared to other types of cases. They usually cover costs for copies of medical records, postage, and any administrative or other routine fees.
